Following a full tender process, the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry has reappointed BLUE as its global PR and communications partner. The programme will raise awareness of both the Cyprus Register and maritime cluster, as well as building the Shipping Deputy Ministry’s reputation amongst key stakeholders on a global scale.
Cyprus is one of the most important maritime centres in the world. With an integrated infrastructure across all shipping sectors, Cyprus has the third largest fleet within the European Unionand ranks eleventh globally. Cyprus shipping is recognised as one of the most important 'blood donors' of the Cyprus economy with tangible prospects for further development. In very few other maritime nations does the economic contribution of the local shipping industry reach such a high level. Indeed, the shipping sector represents7% of annual GDP, which Cyprus believes presents significant potential to be increased.
Natasa Pilides, Cyprus Shipping Deputy Minister
BLUE will work directly with Cyprus Shipping Deputy Minister, Natasa Pilides and her team, handling all aspects of corporate communications to directly support the achievement of its commercial objectives and overall ambition.
BLUE director, Amie Pascoe explained: “As a government contract, the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry was obliged to re-tender for a PR and communications partner at the end of the initial contract period. We are delighted to have been successful again and chosen to continue our effective partnership with the Shipping Deputy Minister and her team.”
She concluded: “Having worked with Cyprus since 2016, we understand intuitively what the Cyprus flag and wider maritime cluster has to offer and what it is trying to achieve. We feel privileged, not only to be working with a country whose shipping sector holds such a key position on the global maritime stage, but also with the Cypriot people who are inimitable in their optimism, warmth and openness.”
