Wärtsilä’s Marine Power division has selected BLUE to drive its PR and communications strategy around decarbonisation.

Nasdaq Helsinki-listed Wärtsilä is a global leader in innovative technologies and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets, with a near €7 billion market capitalisation. Supporting customers in improving their environmental and economic performance is a key objective for the organisation.

BLUE has begun working alongside with Marine Power’s senior spokespeople in both developing and implementing a powerful communications programme that incorporates thought leadership strategy, media relations, social media, and speaker opportunities to support the achievement of the division’s commercial ambitions.

This business unit is committed to creating commercially viable pathways to decarbonisation in the maritime industry. In leading the way for the industry on its journey, Marine Power has a broad portfolio of engines, propulsion systems, hybrid technology, and integrated powertrain systems. These lifecycle solutions deliver the efficiency, reliability, safety, and environmental performance needed to support the maritime industry.

Commenting on the new client, BLUE’s Managing Director Alisdair Pettigrew said: “We have a great long-standing history with Wärtsilä, so we’re delighted to now be supporting its communications efforts as its technology and expertise is set to play a leading role in shipping’s energy transition. It’s an exciting time for us as we continue to support Wärtsilä’s Exhaust Treatment business unit, and now welcome Marine Power to our growing portfolio.

“This opportunity allows us to draw on our years of expertise in the shipping cleantech market to enhance its position as a market leader. The division recognises the need to communicate its vision and values to global stakeholders, especially at a time where we’ve entered a new dawn of environmental regulatory change.

“As the world continues to endure many challenges during these unprecedented times, BLUE has continued to grow, which is a true reflection of the demand and need for communications. We’re proud of our team for continuing to flourish and drive the new business front with well-known, high-calibre brands such as Wärtsilä.”
